I am not sure about the look of the car so I will modify it a bit next week as well as rig it and start texturing. I will make the doors more futuristic when they open. Also My robot is a spot on replica of the robots in total recall.  I may redesign them - stay tuned. TONS to update by next week

OH also I have new animation tests but I will just add them to my youtube channel and create links. youtube embedded is just WAY too poor of a quality

Finalizing car details....ANIMATION DAY

95% done with the vehicle modeling then on to UV's and texturing. I have sooooo much texturing it's insane I will post my color research and look for the city ASAP. Right now it's time to do some blocking animation. It took a while due to me not sure how to design it even though I have TONS of research.. I listened to some of my friends and I statred to convert it into a Prius - NOT ON PUTPOSE - BLAH!!! So I went back to my original design MUCH better and beefier. Yeah I won't post the Prius designs

Finishing the cop car this week as well as the Futuristic City


Finishing the cop car this week  - and I will start the rig for it. I made some adjustments in the Sid Mead design to make it more logical and practical. The head lights would be protected and engine parts would not be exposed to gun fire. I will adjust those areas and assume that Hydraulics for the ram were meant to be placed there. My windshield is not as large and I will protect the tires more. MAN tons to do on this cinematic project. I will be whooped this week as I am making a tutorial on Python plugin authorization. I CANNOT wait for the Holidays

It's amazing what can be done with some sleep!!!


I discovered a few issues with my models  so I have been cleaning most of this week and last and started rigging the hero. His face is soooo...Well awesome to play with. I am not too worried about his neck since it will be buried under his police uniform. I am fixing some of the eye brow distortions still and doing some more tweaks like removing the derp smile. LOL. I am fixing the smile so it reads more int he cheeks

tongue and teeth

These teeth I may use

They are a bit realistic. I grabbed them using some procedural software but not sure about them.

This is the initial test. I will create expressions then decide with them in place. It's tricky because the characters are not really realistic but these TYPES may work. If I have to rebuild them I will but this right now is a test

Secondary character which I call Mohawk man  is 80 % completed. I just need to add his details. I will post those tomorrow morning



Main villain head sculpt done!!! SON!!!

I am now taking it into 3D coat. I will add the normal map detail using Ndo. It's just faster and way more accurate IMO. Since I am an illustrator more than a sculptor. I can put on the sexy bits to the last detail since I will know the UV's like the back of my hand. Maya  creates the best normals output so trust me when I say it's faster. Then Again I haven't created it in XSI yet ...hmmmmm

Now I just need to add some details such as fixing the shoes and creating belt and gun and such as well as double checking edge loops for animation. He appears to be proportionally correct according to my divinci circle to check his reach arch. I might have to pull the arms in just a bit. He does get kind close to his knee caps. I am also going to smooth all of these except the head and shoes to get an even edge flow. either that or mental ray preview smooth to save some time

Jack Kirby Style animated short

So I decided to capture a little of the Jack Kirby look. I will post references for it. It will be a bit of an experiment to get that look to translate. At least the characters will but the environment might be tricky. Not sure I liked the original head I concepted for our company presentations  so I resculpted it and rebuilt it  in 3D coat from the ground up according to the new illustrations. I was going to use my head I modeled but it's just not hero like enough and it's a bit ego centric. My head will be a villain

The Street - the goal

Here is the redesign of my original villain. This is the new villains proportions and face detail. Note I already have these guys modeled they just needed more spunk & detail to give them life!! ....and some of their seams welded. LOL They were based off old orthos
