Hey check out some old animations I dug up
First one is an angry ball character walking
Here is a weight study.....I will eventually go a back and edit this one but not a bad start....I think there needs to be a slight displacement in the spine to help this initially with the lift. Need to also fix the pop in the arm a bit....you can see it's just a bit beyond blocking

Animation test - Next scene
For Weird Junior High - here is one of our latest tests. We are fixing the timing with the sound.
Sean of War Whips
So For Sean of War I want me to be pretty trim and slim with the facial features and animate-able qualities of Team Fortress 2 - for the head, so I decided to create some whips to start the thought process for my exo-suit
Head detail coming up next - Well after Long beach Comicon
I wanted the Exo-suit to NOT look like your typical Muscle fiber wear (ALA: CRYSIS). I want it to be more layered in a way - unique and not a typical

SEAN of WAR it Is!!!
So the winner is Sean of War- Kind of a Gears of War type Character. I will be working on the story for the next few months to tie in with a an animated short...I am putting the claymation simulated - short on hold. I rather work on this. It fits my personality

THE CALL GOES OUT...
So I want to work on some new art but I wanted to take a vote on all those who sign up for this blog
I know I have tons of projects I am working on and I may get some head way next week to maybe work on some more/ new 3D stuff (outside of the animated short and comic - well it can be connected related to your vote) and wanted to see and give you guys a say and what you would like to see....with my nutty schedule this would be something I would finish probably after October
These are your vote choices

normal map guts
One thing I can't stand is normal maps that look well so normal.......BUT if handled well they can REALLY compliment a model especially a higher poly one....Here is the progress on the scalped Zombie...WAY fun. Spec map on the upper torso included. I am Mud boxing his pants and head today getting it ready for the rigger

Undead flesh
SO this week I have been Trying to take a vacation....Had a small one yesterday playing some x-box and relaxing. Today it's all about cleaning the house....BUT nobody said I can't paint ZOMBIE FLESH!!!!!!!
Way fun. The base texture was made by one of our artists. But the gross details are all me. I am still working in the details of grossness but I have to be careful not too get too zombie obsessed. Still tweaking it a bit. I may do some more hero modeling tweaks today too.......More than likely next week. He needs to be finalized and unwrapped. My goal is To have it done by next week for sure and this zombie also. We shall see......

3D hero
So I am finishing the final stages of the hero....and yeah my face was just too fat...defeats the purpose to change my face for the hero. Can you say ego mania....LOL....(I might just make a better zombie) Anyhoo here is the new hero with some swwwwweeeetttt updates. I am finishing up the edits and finishing the hands

One of my students asked me what would be the purpose of four arms?...Well when you can summon them when you need them a gun fight would be the perfect answer..Check out page nine I just finished coloring for Fist Full of Magic. I am going to tweak it a bit more and possibly desaturate it a bit

Messing with lights
Thought I would post this just for fun
Messing with lights with a scene I created for mapping for games...I will eventually texture it...going to add a few more fill lights - and soften up the main light shadow but FG has made some nice soft shadows gray and black with contact shadows. To Get AO to place nice it's good to crank up the FG

So I have started editing my head and making me awesome hero like. I see why some people may want to do cosmetic surgery. When you stare at your face a lot your like up ....EEEUUUWUUWWWWW Wish that was different

Holy Molly
Well soooo much to do it's insane but we are at the trail end of the animated series Weird Junior High illustrations for the Bible on the series print and such. It's looking epic. We were trying to get the comic book out in July for my fist Full of Magic IP but it may have to wait till August due to time constraints and work load. Here is a sample of the color I did for page 3. My guys are coloring some of the others with a trade work agreement. I need to make them some characters and environment stuff. These guys are so awesome. We are soon going to sell some of my training vids in Brazil on Mudbox and Maya and such with them so things are looking cool. Have to help my wife recover from some nasty food poisoning today...so more posts are coming

Pushing the look
So on top of the WJH series we are working on I am pushing a comic book for another IP and a 3D trailer to compliment it. The comic book has been a lot of work writing creating and now coloring and editing. Here is one of the characters I am getting ready for my rigging intern to knock out of the park. I started editing the skin shader and I am digging the current results. I may push the dark eyes crack smoker dark shadows look.....and edit the texture some more

So I been staring at this for too long and needed some input!!!!...... I got some awesome feed back from fellow artists and achieved an even sweeter difference in the characters' ages features (I know almost a sentence)...So in essence they now look better in regards to her stages of life....selling the idea

A strong better old lady....wait.....
So I fixed some of the lack of edge loops and high lighted some cheek bones compared to the drawing......I like this a lot.....the base worked well. Lofted a spline curve as a shape and then edited to meet my evil needs....MMMMUUUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHA...Oh and one on the left is the young version and then the right old...I want the changes to be in the cheeks and nose and a little in the mouth

Animated short Main character redesign quick sketch
So got some good feed back on my main character for my short and the old design I have to agree is WAY too simple so yesterday I created a quick sketch mock up of the new look with a bit of the mother of the Triplets of Bellvue influence.....This will allow the audience to connect with her. I want her to seem kind and for the audience to feel for her as she goes through a range of emotions......
WHY Don't I look like a SUPER HERO???...CURSE YOU TACO BELL!!!
So I started my head a while back and got to busy to post but have been whoring it out for lectures......As I progressed and decided to incorporate my head to the trailer's main character I realized my head is not very comic book like and will need some fudging to make me comic book awesome......!!!....Sigh...I guess there is some sort of don't eat fast food moral lesson here...

Hybreed super hero love child
So we need to remodel the lead character fro our 3D trailer tied to our comic book.....Reason why?. Well he looks too much like an actor and not stylized (as in the 3D model not particularly the sketch) ....AKA not my design style....all my art work as you can see has a bit of the comic / cartoon or comic book feel. I want to add that and for fun put a bit of my features in the main character....hehe...The image below is my contract artist for the comic book
